The land disposal restrictions identify hazardous wastes that are restricted from land disposal and defines those limited circumstances under which an otherwise prohibited waste may continue to be land disposed.
The land disposal restrictions (LDR) provides a second measure of protection from threats posed by hazardous waste disposal. The LDR programs ensures that hazardous waste cannot be placed on the land until the waste meets specific treatment standards to reduce the mobility or toxicity of the hazardous constituents in the waste.
