No, facilities are not removed from RCRAInfo when they are no longer generating or treating hazardous waste. Having said this, we must add that the information in RCRAInfo is "owned" and maintained by the "Implementer of Record" (the agency responsible for the data, i.e., State or EPA Region) and they have the ability to indicate whether or not a facility can be released to the public.
Therefore, you could have seen a facility listed which is no longer listed. (Sometimes this is due to clerical errors.) If you are or would like to question why a particular facility is no longer listed, please contact your Regional office at http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/regions.htm#reg or your State office at http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/stateweb.htm. They will be the only ones who can tell you why the facility is no longer listed.
When a facility is no longer generating or treating waste, does the EPA remove them from the RCRAInfo database?
